The national wax museum plus. Dublin

I visited the Dublin was museum on 9th August at the last minute as I have some time to kill in Dublin.

I had read some reviews so wasn't expecting it to be brilliant and it certainly wasn't.

I will briefly cover the museum then cover the chamber of horrors in more depth at the end.

A few things to note before I start the photos.  It was 12 euros entry.  I was there ten mins after opening on a Sunday morning so it was very quiet

The plus bit on the name is a green button to press in each of the rooms that plays a soundtrack and little explanation.

The building looks very grand from outside but inside it is a maze of very small rooms.  There are signs to direct you round but it is easy to get lost.

The entrance is impressive.

There are a lot of Irish waxworks in the first room.  Then downstairs to the basement.

Downstairs are lots of small rooms.  Not a lot to say about these so will just post some photos.

Next was the chamber of horrors but I will do that separately  at the end as some of the scenes are quite disturbing.

Dark ride. Sparkys al ghurair city

This ride was a bit of a surprise.
I had been to the sparkys in Dubai a couple of times before to get the coaster credit but it had always been closed.
This time I was hosting a couple of Dutch enthusiasts who were in town and had contacted the management in advance.

We were given a guided tour of the Park by the marketing manager. The rollercoaster was working well today, then in the corner I spotted something called simply dark ride.

I asked the lady if we could ride it and she said yes but it was only really for children. I was quite surprised how well it was the themed for a very small park.

It is a dual level ride vaguely themed around aliens. They were kind enough to let me ride with the lights on so here's a review.

Here is the layout

Once you bored you head straight into a spiral left the car creeks and groans as you make your way to the second level

Halfway up the spiral left your greeted by a large spider that pops up with associated sound and lighting effects

Once at the top of the rather short lift hill there are some left doors one of which opens to reveal an alien.

You then move on to an operating theatre scene.

Again the figures move and this is really quite a good scene.
Is a strange large alien metal head with associated lighting and sound effects and computer consoles flashing away

From here the rest of the ride is pretty dark so the photos aren't very good even with the work lights on. However you pass several more scenes mostly alien based all with animatronics figures and lighting and sound effects.

You then head back down another spiral lift.

Here's a couple more photos from the rest of the ride

Overall it's a very nice dark ride.  Longer than expected and with a lot more effects than I was expecting.
